Maria Montessori Mazatlán School

By: janezhang

The Maria Montessori Mazatlán School in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, by EPArquitectos and Estudio Macías Peredo. The Montessori model is not a conventional education system, so classrooms are designed to facilitate dynamics where children can experiment and wake their senses. The classroom forms are centrifugal rather than linear. The triangular openings offer a playful take on scale - are they windows or doors? They allow both kids and adults to mold it to their own imagination. Each classroom operates as a cell in the whole organism of the school, giving the "village" a sense of order.
