About the team

Jane Zhang, CEO

Jane is a design researcher and former educator. She co-founded room2learn with the intent of equipping K-12 educators with the power of spatial design. Jane has over 10 years of experience working with youth, both in the classroom as an English and French teacher and outdoors as an environmental educator. She is currently crafting a children’s story set in the year 2047 for her Master’s thesis at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Jane studied Urban Planning in France and holds a BA&Sc in Sustainability and English Literature from McGill University.

Grace O'Shea, COO

Grace is a New York City public school teacher turned education entrepreneur. As a 6th and 8th grade science teacher, she used design thinking at the classroom and school level, leading her public middle school towards a future state design. Grace co-founded room2learn in order to provide every student with a learning space to match their learning needs. She loves female comediennes, camping and talking about the future of school.

Fernando Trujano, CTO

Fernando is a full stack web developer and a student at MIT pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is passionate about using technology to help others and is excited for the possibilities technology can uncover in the education space. In his free time, Fernando enjoys going to hackathons and making films.

Kelvin Lu, Web Developer

Kelvin is a web developer and a student at MIT, pursuing a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and minor in Urban Planning - specifically education. He is interested in how education will evolve in the 21st century to better fit students' individual needs, and how technology will play a role in that change. When not coding, Kelvin can be found making handicrafts or dancing.

Jim Glotzhober, Director of School Partnerships

Jim is a language teacher and EdTech enthusiast. He earned his M.Ed from the University of Maryland and is excited to bring his 7+ years of teaching experience to bring about school improvement on a wider scale. In his free time, Jim enjoys food documentaries and binge-watching his favorite shows.

Coco Yang, Marketing Intern

Coco is currently a junior at Cornell University School of Hotel Administrations, majoring in Hotel Administrations and minoring in Law & Society and Real Estate. Having studied in innovative classrooms, she understands the role that a well-designed classroom has on fostering student engagement and intellectual development. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and taking food photos.

Michelle Favin, Content & Community Manager

Michelle Favin is an artist and educator, most recently from Los Angeles. She received her MA in Sociology and Public Policy from New York University and is now a Master’s student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, studying the relationship between creative expression, design-thinking, and community-building. She has over seven years of experience teaching, creating curriculum, and designing learning experiences that foster creative growth. Michelle loves all bodies of water, avocados, and discovering cities by foot.

Shasha Du, UX Intern

Shasha is a designer of digital and real world experiences that encourage learning both lifelong and life-wide. As a lover of words, art, music, and the sciences, Shasha draws inspiration from a multitude of disciplines as well as her extensive experience studying, working, and traveling abroad. Shasha has a BA in International Development Studies and is currently exploring UX, product, and learning experience design in the Technology, Innovation, and Education Master's program at | the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Prior to Harvard, Shasha worked at AIC Education, an international education startup in China; the Cambridge Institute of International Education, an education consulting company in Boston; and Mills College in Oakland, CA. In her free time, Shasha loves to travel, spend time outdoors, listen to music, and explore all things art and fashion.
